Hubbub about LEED

There has been a lot of talk about leed accreditation these days. Designers, architects, engineers, they are all involved in this new initiative to be green. With non-renewable fuels going up in price, we need to start looking at our other options. We need to look into making buildings that are less reliant on the massive amounts of energy we need to keep them heated, or cooled. Energy efficient designs are the way of the future, they will help reduce energy cost, keep our environment clean, and lower our dependency on non-renewable sources of energy. What better way to become green than to be leed certified?

There are leed classes daily that would help those looking to receive this type of certification. All you need to do is find the free time to go. I would suggest this type of education for civil engineers, architects, and even designers. These types of people need to be aware of the shift in building techniques that will help our environment. Being a LEED professional will help benefit any career from contracts with large firms to interior home design. Having knowledge of the new energy efficient design standards will leave a positive mark on the environment, and on their career.
