Branching out on my own with a franchise
Nov 19, 2008
I have never wanted to run my own business. While I am definitely not an underachiever, I’ve always been comfortable taking directions and letting others make the serious decisions. And it had worked out great for me until I actually got the chance to be boss while the real boss was gone away on an extended business trip. All of a sudden I found that not only did I like running things, but I was good at it!
Then I got thinking that there are so many new franchise opportunities that maybe it would be worth my while to branch out on my own. I looked into it and was surprised to find out that I was in the financial place to be able to do it. I just needed to decide which one was of the best franchise opportunities for me.
I had always worked for sports businesses and I decided that I wanted to look into owning a baseball franchise. I spent some time looking into it so that I could get a real understanding for what types of baseball businesses were out there. I finally decided on a training franchise and went ahead with the purchase. Now that I’ve been running my own business for awhile, I can’t believe I ever worked for someone else.
